At a Mountain Loch
By Daysounds © 2018-19
Once upon a time,
Far, far away--
At a mountain loch,
A mallard duck
A fly tried to catch,
But it missed,
And landed
Up-side down,
On the grass.
Witness to the fact,
A dragonfly,
Wholeheartedly,
Started to laugh.
At that, it was,
When, all of a sudden,
By a trout
Got swallowed up.
So happy was the trout,
And of its achievement
Very proud.
"There goes another one,...
And even bigger yet,"
It said,
While looking at its friends,
"Watch this!"
Then,
Showing all its colors,
Boastful-ly,
And
With great self-confidence,
Out of the water
(It) Jumped!...
But, lo and behold,
It ended up
In a frying pan.

"For who makes you different? Moreover, what do you have that you did not receive? And, if you,
indeed, received it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?"
