Treachery, like a virus or a poisonous weed, lives only in a body or soil that is beneficial to it. Then, little by little, treachery grows feeding on the friendly soil or body until it destroys it. That body or soil is called trust.
If Julius Caesar hadn't trusted his friend Brutus, most chances are that he would have never been murdered. His wife told him she had had a dream that was a warning against going to the Senate that day, but he didn't pay attention...he trusted Brutus, one of his best friends.
Jesus Christ had 12 apostles. One of them, Judas Iscariot, betrayed him to the people who wanted to kill him. Hadn't he been one of Jesus closest friends, Judas couldn't have had much of a chance to betray him.
A person can trap a stranger or an enemy, and hurt him; however, that is not treachery. An open enemy is worthy of respect. Is a traitor to be respected? Yes. Jesus respected Judas. Worthy of respect? Not at all. However, we are called to be like Jesus; therefore, we should respect and love all enemies, including traitors.Tough? Extremely tough, but with the help of God we can do it, even if our time on Planet Earth gets shortened.
A call to our traitor friends:
Jesus loves you, so much that He died on a cross for you.The friends you are betraying love you too, that's why they are your friends. Stop hurting them, enjoy the love and trust they have for and on you. Look for other ways to vent your feelings, your anger; those ways will be more difficult for sure.
The easiest way to vent your feelings, your anger, is against the people who love and trust you; but if you turn against them, soon nobody is going to love or trust you anymore. Remember that the very people who are supporting/encouraging/rewarding the betrayal of your friends will betray you too. It has always been that way through history. History is a great teacher.
In addition to that, you are breaking one of the two greatest commandments: Thou shall love thy neighbor as yourself. And, it doesn't matter if you say Christ is your Savior, it doesn't matter if you say that you are a son of Abraham, it doesn't matter if you are a priest, a pastor, a bishop, a rabbi, or a "holy-man", if you don't repent, confess, and change radically, your arrival airport will be Hell; there, you will be given citizenship papers valid for all eternity. The other citizens will be other traitors, like you, liars (who can be a traitor and not be a liar?), hateful, angry people. And you won't be allowed or able to leave your new country, not even for a second. Satan (the master you have now), which the Bible calls the grand dragon, the serpent of old, the Devil (see Revelation 12:9)will be there too. You won't have anybody under your authority, you won't have anybody to love you or trust you anymore. Intense suffering will be your share for all eternity.

Your bribes don't work in Heaven (even though you think they might).
If you, dear reader, are a cheating spouse, a traitor of your co-workers who trust you, someone who is betraying the love of a friend, the trust of a neighbor, the trust of a child, the trust of God, this applies to you.
Today is the day of Salvation. Don't turn the computer off. Read this message again. Thank God for His love for you, and for the people around you who love and trust you. Repent of your abomination. Turn radically from your ways. Confess your sin, and you will find that your long night is gone. Day sounds will awaken you to a new day, where everything will be more clear, sharpened, brighter. You wil hear again the chirping of the birds, the joyful murmuring of the creeks, the clapping of the trees, and the Voice of God, who in your spirit is whispering, "My dear son/daughter, welcome back home."
